Bio Sketch

Dr. Yingying Chen received her Ph.D. from Computer Science Department at Rutgers University. Dr. Chen holds a MS degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and a BS in Physics from Nanjing University, China.

Prior to join Stevens Institute of Technology, Dr. Chen was with Bell Laboratories and Optical Networking Group, Lucent Technologies (Holmdel & Murray Hill, New Jersey). Her work has involved a combination of research and development of new technologies and real systems, ranging from advanced Element Management System (EMS) and Network Management System (NMS) for Lucent flagship optical and data products to voice/data integrated services. Concurrently, she was an instructor in the Computer Science Department at Rutgers University. She also worked as a system researcher for embedded networks at Alcatel Network Systems (Raleigh, NC) previously.

Research

My research interests are in the areas of wireless and systems security, wireless and sensor networks, security and software engineering in distributed systems, network systems, and bioinformatics. Particualarly, I am interested in using statistical methods and machine learning techniques to classify and model the network, system, and healthcare related problems.

I'm leading the DAISY Lab. My current research projects are:
