Logic Analyzers

A multichannel oscilloscope can be highly effective in testing basic digital circuits. However, as the sophistication of the digital circuit increases, instrumentation capable of setting large numbers of circuit inputs and monitoring a large number of circuit outputs becomes necessary. The logic analyzers provide that capability. Their use requires some sophistication - knowing how to connect the large number of connector cables and knowing how to program the logic analyzer to perform the desired tests. Though perhaps taking more time that you would like to set up, once set up they can be highly effective.

The Laboratory has five logic analyzers, some old, others contemporary. They are

  • Agilent 1673G Logic Analyzer
  • HP 1664A Logic Analyzer
  • HP 16500C Logic Analyzer
  • HP 1631 Logic Analyzer
